Lithichrome Saw Sheen
|
Saw Sheen was developed years ago as a specific solution for transforming sawed colored granite from a dull colorless material to a colorful honed finish in a moment's time. The John F. Kennedy Memorial in Arlington with its hand cut lettering is lightly contrasted with brushed-in Saw Sheen. Saw Sheen has many monumental uses for instant contrasting, as hundreds of monumental shopmen have discovered.
Saw Sheen in the Building Field
Saw Sheen's effect is obtained by allowing more light to be absorbed into the stone instead of reflecting it, thus bringing out its inherent color, as in honing or polishing stone. Saw Sheen leaves no film or pigmentation to peel, chip, or fade. It is quite possible that it will prove practical as a color renewer for granite, stone, slate, or tile flooring since it has no film to become abraded. It is not practical for polished marble or granite cince it would leave a film on these surfaces. Naturally, the result is more striking on colored granite or stone than on grey. Since Saw Sheen is low on viscosity (about like water), its coverage ratio is high.
